The Chicago Stock Exchange (CBOT) closed on Friday (21) recording losses for the main contracts.

The May/23 expiry was quoted at US$ 66.32, July/23 at US$ 61.52, September/23 at US$ 55.27 and December/23 at US$ 54.80.

According to an analysis by the Farm Progress website, the week was marked by traders’ concentration on planting progress in the United States, strong export competition abroad and a likely record corn and soybean harvest in Brazil.

Market analyst Vlamir Brandalizze pointed out that the American data were also decisive for the day of declines in agricultural commodities, with the highest interest rates since 2007.

“Financial market ends up putting pressure on commodities, there was a herd effect, everyone losing. Liquidation in oil, soy, cotton, corn, everyone plummeting”, he highlighted.
