He said on Friday:
The world’s corona crisis is not completely over. New varieties of the pest are constantly being developed. There is still a risk that the spread of disease and health damage from those species will become so severe that the medical infrastructure cannot withstand them.
In the Philippines, South Korea, Japan, Mongolia and Vietnam, the number of new corona cases and the number of people admitted to hospitals with the disease has been falling since last August.
But, this number of countries like Singapore, New Zealand is continuously increasing. He said that Omicron XPB subtype in Singapore and Omicron PA.5 subtype in New Zealand are the reason for this.
