Chennai: In Tamil Nadu today, a total of 1,359 people, including 724 men and 635 women, have been affected by the corona infection. A maximum of 616 people have been affected in Chennai. As a result, the number of victims in Tamil Nadu has increased to 34 lakh 65,490.
So far 34 lakh 21,552 people have recovered. Today alone, 621 people recovered and went home. There are 5,912 people in treatment across Tamil Nadu. Today there are no casualties due to the infection.
The incidence of corona infection in Tamil Nadu was 1063 yesterday and in Chennai it was 497. Corona exposure has been steadily increasing over the past few weeks. Yesterday and today the incidence of the disease has crossed a thousand.
Earlier this morning, the Central Health Department said that 17,336 new cases of corona had been reported in India.
88,284 people are being treated for infections. 13,029 people are reported to have recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours. A total of 196.77 crore vaccine doses have been reported in the country.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Ma Subramaniam has advised parents to be careful when sending their children to school and to monitor for infections and for all members of the public to wear face masks.
