The number of people in hospital with a corona infection has fallen to 49. For the first time since March 2, 2020, when the corona virus had just emerged in the Netherlands, the total occupancy is below fifty.

According to the figures from the National Coordination Center for Patient Distribution (LCPS), eighteen people had such serious corona complaints in the past day that they were therefore admitted. Their complaints were relatively mild; they ended up in the nursing ward. For the second day in a row, and for the sixth time this month, no one ended up in intensive care.

In recent months, occupancy has fallen rapidly. According to the government, the corona virus is part of everyday life, it has become endemic, so to speak. But this does not mean that the virus is gone. People can still get infected and infected people can still end up in hospital due to the virus. That happens less and less often. On average there are less than twenty new admissions per day.
