With more than 600 people in critical condition in hospital, beds in most hospitals are full.
Only 13,95,301 people have been affected by corona during the one week period of August 8 to 14. South Korea and the United States alone have reported 13 lakh cases in a single week. With Japan now on summer vacation and students returning home, there are fears that the spread will increase. Therefore, the Japanese government has advised the general public to avoid unnecessary travel.
In addition, Japan has stepped up efforts to administer the fourth dose of the vaccine. 31% of the country has received four doses of the vaccine. Also, only 30 percent of 12- to 40-year-olds have received the third dose of the vaccine. Therefore, the health department is focusing on giving them the 3rd dose in full.

Like Japan, another East Asian country, South Korea, has also seen a new wave of corona. 1.5 lakh new cases are reported daily in the country.
