The Karnataka government has announced that a full curfew will be imposed over the weekend in view of the growing corona spread.

An emergency consultation meeting was held in Bangalore today under the chairmanship of Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bomma due to the increasing spread of the virus in the state.

The meeting was attended by key ministers and members of a government-appointed panel of experts. A full curfew has been declared across the state over the weekend at the end of the meeting.

A full curfew has been declared from 10pm on Friday to 5am on Monday. As many as 3048 people have been diagnosed with the virus in Bangalore as of 10 pm today and 147 people in the state have been diagnosed with the virus in a single day today, Health Minister Sudhakar said.

As the spread of the virus in Bangalore is on the rise, schools and colleges will be run only for 10th and 12th class students in the city.

Direct classes for other classes have been announced as canceled. Only 50 percent of the seats in all shopping malls (hotels, theaters, pubs, etc.) are allowed.

100 people are allowed to attend the wedding halls and 200 people are allowed to attend the open air wedding ceremonies.

People from Maharashtra, Kerala and Goa must have been tested for the virus. Health Minister Sudhakar also said that the night curfew across the state has been extended till the 21st.
