Corona summit: That’s in the decision paper – domestic policy

The federal and state governments agreed on new corona measures from December 28th at the Omikron summit on Tuesday.

These include: contact restrictions for EVERYONE, club closings and spectator bans for major events.

But with the very last page there is a threat of federal-state disagreement: Baden-Württemberg and Saxony are sharply critical.

In a protocol declaration by the two countries on the last page of the paper, it says about the resolutions: “They do not guarantee sufficient capacity to react quickly to a worsening situation, as forecast by the Scientific Expert Council in its statement of December 19, 2021 be able.”

And further: “From the point of view of Baden-Württemberg, in view of the exponential spread of the Omikron variant, the renewed determination of the epidemic situation of national scope by the Bundestag is urgently required in the short term.”
