Research has shown that a natural barrier-like structure that acts against the common cold provides little protection against the corona virus.
A total of 52 individuals who had been infected with the corona virus participated in this small study. The study was published in the journal Nature Communications.
Individuals with improved memory bank of specific immune cells are less likely to be affected by corona after being exposed to the common cold, to avoid being infected in the future.
Experts say that no one should rely solely on this natural protection. They insist that it is still necessary to get the corona vaccine.
Experts believe the discovery could provide information on how the human body’s immune system fights the virus.
Covit-19 infection is caused by one type of corona virus, and some colds are caused by other corona viruses. So scientists are wondering if the immune system against one will work against another corona virus.
Therefore, experts warn that it would be a huge mistake to assume that those who have recently contracted the flu will be spontaneously protected from the Covit 19 infection. It is important to note that not all cold sores are caused by corona viruses.
The Imperial College London team still wanted to understand why some people become infected with the corona after being exposed to the virus, while others do not.
‘New vaccine system’
They focused on tea cells, an important component of the human body’s immune system. Some D cells kill cells that are affected by a particular risk. Take the mucus virus, for example.
Even after the mucus leaves the body, some of the tea cells in the body function as a memory bank. Whenever they encounter a virus again, they will bang and act against the virus.
Last September 2020, the team examined 52 people who lived with a person who had not been vaccinated and who had been infected with corona. Half of them were infected with the corona virus (Covit) in the next 28 days of research, but the remaining half were not infected with the corona (Covit).
It has been found that in the blood of one-third of people who are not affected by corona, there are high levels of tea cells that act as specific memory banks.
Experts say that in the human body, when another corona virus (common cold) infection, which is related to humans, occurs frequently, such tea cells form.
Researchers also say that cats need to be included in any precautionary measures against the virus.
Although this is a small research, it has helped to understand how the human body’s immune system fights the virus and how it can help future vaccines, said Dr. Simon Clark of the University of Reading.
He added: “These data should not be overstated.
“Recently it was a big mistake to assume that people infected with the flu would be safe against the corona virus. Corona viruses are the only cause for catching the flu,” he said.
Ajit Lalwani, the senior author of the study, acknowledged that corona vaccines are essential for protection against Govt 19.
He added that “learning what the body does will help design a new vaccine.”
Existing vaccines specifically target the protein fibers called spike protein, which can be modified into new strains.
But the body’s tea cells target the intrinsic proteins of the virus, which do not vary from strain to strain on a large scale.
Ajit Lalwani said that if vaccines do the job of tea cells, they will get protection against corona for a long time.
