The United Arab Emirates (UAE) passport ranked first in the world for travel mobility in the 2022 global ranking. UAE citizens can enter 160 countries without restrictions. Japan, which has been the leader for the past four years, dropped to eighth place (147), along with Liechtenstein. Russia occupies 38th place in this list (108 countries).

The sixth position among the countries with the most advanced passports is shared by the USA, Great Britain, Greece, Slovakia and Ireland (149).

The Henley & Partners Passport Index is considered the standard reference tool for citizens and sovereign states in assessing the place of a passport in the global spectrum of mobility. It is compiled from exclusive data from the International Air Transport Administration (IATA) and includes 199 different passports and 227 travel destinations.
