Corruption Index: Kuwait ranks 111 globally

Kuwait ranks 111th in the global corruption index. Norway, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland and Denmark are the least corrupt countries. Kuwait is in the category of medium risk countries.

In the annual report released by the international organization Trace, Kuwait has reached the 111th position globally with 53 points. The list was prepared by collecting the opinions of experts and businessmen regarding transparency and anti-corruption measures in the countries, dealings of common people and corruption in the public sector.

Last time, Kuwait was ranked 95th. This is the third year in a row that Kuwait’s position in the ranking list is falling behind. Although it was going to advance in points, Kuwait was going backwards as some countries made progress in the ranking. Globally, Kuwait ranks fourth in the Arab world after Jordan, Tunisia and the UAE. 194 countries are included in the list. Norway, New Zealand, Sweden, Switzerland and Denmark are the least corrupt countries in the list prepared by Trace. The most corrupt countries are North Korea, Turkmenistan, Syria and Venezuela.
