Diego Costa was one of the players most identified with Atletico Madrid. The Brazilian-Spanish striker played for the team between 2010 and 2014 and between 2018 and 2020, won two Spanish championships with it and reached the Champions League final in 2014. Despite this, today (Friday) he actually attacked the Colcheneros in an interview in Brazil.
“Atletico Madrid is not a team at a European level,” he said Costa. “It’s a lie. Everything is a lie. The conditions at Atletico Mineiro, my current team, are better than Atletico Madrid’s. There is no tidy dining room for the team, for example. The locker room is in bad condition, also in terms of the structure itself, and the academy is dead.”
Costa referred to a number of other anecdotes from his career: “Shy Ngolo Canta, he showered next to us with underwear. Flamengo? Every player wants to play there. They have two good strikers right now, this is the big club in Brazil.”
