A 24-year-old woman and her two-year-old daughter died in the fire of their house, on the night of Thursday to Friday, we learned from the gendarmes, who favor the accidental track.
The fire broke out around 1 a.m. this Friday, in a pavilion occupied by a family of three in Voudenay, in the south-west of the Côte d’Or.
An explosion of smoke
The father, slightly injured, triggered the alert and tried to rescue the mother and the child, with the help of a cousin, but an explosion of smoke prevented them, specifies France Bleu.
The fire very quickly engulfed the house, especially the upper floor, causing the roof to collapse. The mother and her daughter were found dead in the rubble, according to the gendarmes.
The causes of the fire remain unknown but “the accidental track is privileged”, they indicate.
