Cottbus Station Restrictions: Deutsche Bahn Announces Limited Access due to Cable Damage – Expect Delays in Brandenburg

by time news

Passengers should expect restrictions in southern Brandenburg on Tuesday. Deutsche Bahn announced that currently only one side of Cottbus station is accessible. The reason is damage to cables due to construction work.

Rail traffic is still restricted around Cottbus main station. As Deutsche Bahn announced, following signal disruptions on Monday and a brief suspension of all journeys, only one side of the station is accessible on Tuesday as well.

It was stated that trains to and from the western side could run normally again to Berlin and Falkenberg. However, individual failures are also possible here, according to Deutsche Bahn.

Trains from the opposite direction to Poland, Weißwasser, Senftenberg and Frankfurt an der Oder are still not running. Trains terminate here in Peitz-Ost, Klinge, Neuhausen and Calau. From there, efforts will be made to set up replacement buses running to Cottbus main station.

Railways had already announced it and said the cuts are expected to continue till Thursday.

The railways further said, “At present there is no forecast as to when the disruption will be resolved.” Work is underway to resolve signal disruption caused by cable breakage during construction work.

When asked on Tuesday afternoon, an ODEG press spokesperson told rbb24 that the rail connection would likely remain disrupted until July 12.
