Existing drugs against the condition, or new ones that can be developed, can have effects on the primary tumor, but also on metastases. “Results from our laboratory show that anti-inflammatory drugs prevent breast cancer in groups of women at high risk of developing breast cancer, but it is also important to know whether the drugs these can be cured once the disease has already developed,” he said. “That is one of the current challenges on which we are focusing our work: identifying those patients who may benefit from treatments directed towards the condition,” he added.
