The National Assembly will soon study and adopt the draft framework law on development planning and the evaluation of public policies. The draft text was validated by the Council of Ministers this Wednesday, May 10, 2023.

The next law will set a single compass for planning public interventions as well as their evaluation. It should correct noted shortcomings, in particular “heterogeneity of methods, the multiplicity of planning tools and discontinuity in public action”, says the press release from the Council of Ministers.

In the future, the framework law will serve “as a basis for the management of all initiatives aimed at greater progress and collective well-being”.

“It (the draft framework law) establishes a national development planning system which will henceforth be the single reference framework for the design and implementation of public policies with a view to guaranteeing the continuity of public action through consistent and efficient management.”
