The Magazine Topics and the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) convene the Counterpoints of Art and Literature Workshop, whose conference will be held in the Rubén Martínez Villena Room, of said institution, located at 17th and H streets, Vedado, starting from tomorrow, Wednesday the 4th and until Friday, October 6.
The event program is designed to be held through panels and from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. For the opening, a debate is planned on “The avant-garde-tradition dialectic in art and literature.” Among the participants will be Denia García, as moderator, Omar Valiño (theatrologist and art critic), Ernesto Oliva (musician), Jorge Fornet (literary researcher), Manuel López Oliva (plastic artist) and the writer Enrique Pérez Díaz.
“The interaction of society-creator-institutions” is the title of the panel scheduled for Thursday with the participation of the theater scientist Marylin Garbey (moderator), the actress Fátima Patterson, the plastic artist, José Angel Toirac, as well as Cary Diez (musicologist) , Rudy Mora (film and TV director) and Helmo Hernández (art historian) who will moderate the analyses.
For the final day of the Workshop, a debate is planned on the topic “How have art and literature experienced the counterpoints that have emerged in the last decade?” The panel will be Rafael Hernández (moderator) along with the theater artist Rubén Darío Salazar, Manolito Pérez, filmmaker, Rita del Prado, musician, Nelson Herrera, art critic and curator, and Víctor Fowler, writer and essayist who will also be the moderator.
