Country singer Toby Keith dies at 62 after battling cancer

O cantor country Toby Keith died on Monday (5) at the age of 62, after a battle with stomach cancer. He was diagnosed with the disease in 2022.

“Toby Keith passed away peacefully last night, February 5th, surrounded by his family. He fought his fight with grace and courage. Please respect his family’s privacy at this time,” said a statement posted on the artist’s website and social media.

With more than three decades of career, Keith released his debut album in 1993. In total, he has 19 studio albums, two Christmas albums and five compilation albums, totaling worldwide sales of more than 40 million albums.

He has charted 61 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts, including 20 number-one hits and 22 additional top 10 hits.

Among his main hits are the songs “Red Solo Cup”, “I Wanna Talk About Me” e “Beer For My Horses”. In total, the artist has 24 studio albums.

Last year, he performed at the 2023 People’s Choice Country Awards in September and received the Country Icon Award.
