Chennai: Madras High Court has banned actress Kalpika Ganesh from making defamatory comments about famous director Balaji Mohan and his wife Tanya Balakrishna.

In a petition filed by film director Balaji Mohan and his wife Tanya Balakrishna in the Chennai High Court, I have directed films including Maari and Maari 2. I got married to Tanya Balakrishna, who has acted in films like Seventh Sense and Rajarani, on 23rd January last.

In this case, Kalpika Ganesh, an actress from Telangana who acts in web series, has released videos on YouTube to spread defamation about our marriage and personal life. He also shared it on social media.

Kalpika Ganesh should be banned from making defamatory comments about our personal lives. “Kalpika Ganesh should pay Rs 1 crore for making defamatory comments,” the petition demanded.

The case came up for hearing before Justice Senthilkumar Ramamurthy. Advocate Vijayan Subramanian appeared and argued on behalf of the petitioners. The judge who heard the case ordered a restraining order against making defamatory comments about director Balaji Mohan and Tanya Balakrishna. Kalpika Ganesh ordered to respond to this petition by January 20 and adjourned the hearing.
