Coventry pulled off an unthinkable comeback at Molino and scored two late stoppage-time goals to beat Wolves 3-2 to book their ticket to the FA Cup semi-finals in stunning fashion.

The first ticket to the final four of this year’s FA Cup found an owner on Saturday afternoon (16/03) and in a very impressive way, with Coventry overturning their away match against Wolves and with a 3-2 advantage to advance to the semi-finals of the oldest intercollegiate institution for only the second time in its history and the first since the 1986-87 season.

The match was satisfying in phases (17-24 in the finals, 5-12 at home), but it took the second half to catch fire. Coventry hit the back of the net in the 53rd minute and had long been living the dream of becoming the first non-top flight side to win the FA Cup since 1980, but they fell victim to a reverse in the final quarter.

Ait Nouri in the 83rd minute and Bueno five minutes later responded strongly to Sims’ goal, but the excitement did not end there, with the Championship side saving the best for last for their fans.

With the match entering stoppage time, Sims “struck” for the second time in the match, equalizing from… nowhere to 2-2 in the 90+7′ while in the 90+10′ Wright sent the ball with a deflected shot to the left corner of Jose Sa’s goal and put his signature on a fairytale buzzer beater that sealed the Championship side’s presence in the Wembley semi-finals.
