Filling of ‘Air Suvidha’ form and RT-PCR result within 72 hours may be mandatory from next week for passengers coming from China, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore.

Between December 24 and December 26, 6,000 international travelers were randomly tested for Covid-19. The guidelines are being implemented after 39 of them were confirmed to be Covid positive.

Hospitals across the country conducted mock drills on Tuesday morning to test the operational readiness of the Covid-19 submission facilities with special focus on equipment, procedures and manpower. The mock drill was held after the central government issued an alert and asked the states to speed up measures related to Covid.

On December 23, the Ministry of Health had said that the number of Covid positivities in India is decreasing every week. While the average daily number of cases was 2,408 (1.05%) between October 7 and 13, the number of cases dropped to 153 (0.14%) during the week of December 16-22.

Serum Institute offers 2 crore Covishield doses

PTI reported that the Serum Institute of India (SII) has offered two crore doses of CoviShield’s vaccine to the central government free of cost amid rising cases of Covid-19 in some countries.
