It was unbelievable, Vienna City Councilor for Health Peter Hacker (SPÖ) complained in a letter to Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens): “Today I have by far the worst current overview of the situation in the federal capital since the beginning of the pandemic.” The reason for Hacker’s criticism were failures in the electronic reporting system (EMS) and in the data transfer from the federal government to the states. A “security risk” for hackers because “Covid-19 positives cannot be transferred to another federal state”. The government “left it hanging in the air” and false reports about the smooth functioning of the EMS were being spread, hackers sharply criticized.
