There are 2,694 new Coronavirus infections in Great Britain according to today’s bulletin, May 22. The table refers to six other deaths. The data of the health authorities, the Guardian points out, report 17,410 cases between 17 and 22 May, with a growth of 10.5% compared to the previous week. As for the deaths, the figure is instead down by 43.1% over seven days.


Meanwhile, the vaccination campaign is proceeding: throughout Great Britain 37.73 million people have received at least one dose of the vaccine and 22.07 million also the second. Prime Minister Boris Johnson today hailed the exceeding of the threshold of 50 million doses administered in England alone. “It’s an important milestone, it’s the largest public health vaccination program in history and a fantastic team effort that has saved thousands of lives,” he tweeted, urging everyone to get vaccinated.
