A possible new Covid variant has been isolated in France: the “Breton” found in the Côtes d’Armor and Finistère. This was announced by the Directorate General of Health (DGS), according to which “the molecular analysis carried out by the Pasteur Institute reveals a new variant carrying nine mutations”. The “Breton” variant will now be investigated to ascertain a possible “non-recognition by virological tests leading to underdiagnosis” and its transmissibility and severity.
