Journalist and radio entrepreneur Roger Schawinski is launching a cash prize lottery to incentivize vaccinations against Covid. The lottery is promoted by its private radio station Radio 1 and by Campax. Those who have the two doses of vaccine injected from tomorrow can participate in the lottery by registering on the website impfjackpot.ch (available only in German), reports Nzz am Sonntag today. For the moment, two draws are planned to take place on 9 and 23 September on the Zurich private broadcaster.

According to Nzz am Sonntag, the prizes – one of 10,000 francs and four of 1,000 francs – were made available by Schawinski himself, who is now looking for other sponsors.

According to the latest data from the Federal Office of Public Health, 46.1% of the population in Switzerland is fully immunized against Covid-19. So far, 3,985,251 people have received two doses of the vaccine, while another 777,135 have received the first injection. Vaccination in Switzerland is free.
