Covid infections are increasing in Italy, while the dead mark a sharp decline. In the week from 7 to 13 April, 21,779 new infections from Covid-19 were recorded, up 8.5% compared to the previous week (when they were 20,075). There were 129 deaths in 7 days, with a reduction of 25.4% compared to the previous week (when there were 173). These are the data from the weekly bulletin of the Ministry of Health, which photograph the trend of the epidemiological situation from Covid-19.
The positivity rate is growing, standing at 6.9%, 1.7 percentage points more than the previous week (5.2%). The tests performed in 7 days are decreasing: the bulletin reports a total of 316,436 swabs, equal to 18.6% less than the previous week (388,766).
