There are 24,883 new infections from Coronavirus in Italy today, Sunday 26 December 2021, according to Covid data and numbers – region by region – of the Civil Protection bulletin and the Ministry of Health. There are also another 81 deaths.
In the last 24 hours, 217,052 swabs were processed with a positivity rate of 11.5%. There were 85 hospitalizations in intensive care in 24 hours for a total of 1,089 in Italy, while there were 9,220 hospitalized in ordinary Covid wards.

CAMPANIA – There are 1,594 new infections from Coronavirus today, Sunday 26 December 2021, in Campania according to Covid-19 data in the latest bulletin of the Region. There have been 4 deaths since yesterday. In the last 24 hours, 18,675 were tried. In Campania there are 29 Covid patients hospitalized in intensive care, 493 patients with Coronavirus in hospital wards.
LAZIO – There are 3,665 new infections from Coronavirus today, Sunday 26 December 2021, in Lazio according to Covid-19 data in the latest bulletin of the Region. 9 people have died since yesterday. In Rome, there were 2,012 new cases. In the last 24 hours, 13,224 molecular swabs and 20,202 antigenic swabs were processed with a positive rate of 10%. There are 963 hospitalized patients, 16 more since yesterday, 134 intensive care units occupied, 5 more since yesterday. In the last 24 hours, 875 were healed.
LOMBARDY – There are 4,581 new infections from Coronavirus today, Sunday 26 December 2021 in Lombardy, according to Covid-19 data in the latest bulletin of the Region. Since yesterday there have been 15 deaths in the region. In the last 24 hours, 1,260 people have recovered. At the moment there are 119,987 positives in Lombardy. Among the provinces with the highest number of new cases Milan in 1807, Varese 630, Bergamo 441, Como 373 and Brescia 297.
VALLE D’AOSTA – There are 29 new coronavirus infections today 26 December in Valle d’Aosta, according to data from the latest covid-19 bulletin. There are no other deaths. The current positives are 1246 of which 1215 in home isolation, 30 hospitalized, one in intensive care. The total number of healed is equal to 13,238 units, +7 compared to yesterday. The swabs carried out to date are 343,629 while the cases tested so far are 105,922. The deaths of people tested positive for the virus in Valle d’Aosta from the beginning of the epidemic to today are 487.
VENETO – There are 2,093 new coronavirus infections today 26 December in Veneto, according to data from the latest covid-19 bulletin. There is 1 death. There are currently 70,639 positive cases in the region, deaths from the beginning of the pandemic rise to 12282. On the other hand, hospitalizations in the medical area drop for the second consecutive day, 1,178 (-10); there was also a slight decrease in those in intensive care, 172 (-2).
FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA – There are 246 new coronavirus infections today 26 December in Friuli Venezia Giulia, according to data from the latest covid-19 bulletin. There are another 5 deaths. Out of 1,769 molecular swabs 222 new cases were detected, with a positivity rate of 12.5%. While from 1,097 antigenic rapid tests carried out, 24 cases emerged (2.19%).
Of the 5 deaths: a 93-year-old woman from Trieste (who died in RSA), a 92-year-old woman from Monfalcone (who died in hospital), a 90-year-old man from Pordenone (who died in hospital), a 90-year-old man from Arta Terme (died in hospital) and a 71-year-old man from Mereto di Tomba (who died in hospital). There are 29 people hospitalized in intensive care, while patients hospitalized in other departments amount to 280. This was announced by the deputy governor of the Region with responsibility for Health Riccardo Riccardi.
ABRUZZO – There are 225 coronavirus infections in Abruzzo today, 26 December 2021, according to numbers and covid data from the region’s bulletin. There are no deaths. The new cases (aged 1 to 91 years) were identified on 2,151 molecular swabs and 3,048 tests.
The other numbers: another 58 recovered, 9,105 currently positive (+167), 144 hospitalized in the medical area (+10), 21 in intensive care (+3), 8940 in home isolation (+157). The new positives are resident in the province of L’Aquila (33), Chieti (5), time.news (112), Teramo (73), under investigation (2).
PUGLIA – There are 883 new coronavirus infections today 26 December in Puglia, according to data from the latest covid bulletin. There are another 2 deaths. The new cases, identified through 13,128 swabs, are distributed as follows by province: Bari: 271; Bat: 18; Brindisi: 158; Foggia: 164; Lecce: 220; Taranto: 33; Residents outside the region: 14: Province in definition: 5.
There are 11,643 people currently positive, 171 hospitalized in a non-critical area, 22 in intensive care. Overall data: 293,546 total cases, 5,416,748 swabs performed, 274,949 people healed, 6,954 people who died.
SICILY – There are 1,727 new infections from Coronavirus today, Sunday 26 December 2021 in Sicily, according to Covid-19 data in the latest bulletin of the Region. 10 people have died since yesterday. In the last 24 hours, 263 have been cured. At the moment, the positives on the island are 28. 529. Among the provinces with the highest number of new cases Palermo at 341, Messina at 332, Catania at 287, Syracuse at 251 and Trapani at 192.
SARDINIA – There are 244 new infections from Coronavirus today, Sunday 26 December 2021 in Sardinia, according to Covid-19 data in the latest bulletin of the Region. Since yesterday there has been a death on the island. In the last 24 hours, a total of 4956 swabs were processed, including molecular and antigenic. There are 12 patients admitted to intensive care units, one more than yesterday. 128 patients are admitted to the medical area, 4 fewer than yesterday. 5,169 people in isolation at home, 230 more than yesterday.
TUSCANY – There are 3,075 new coronavirus infections today 26 December in Tuscany, according to data from the latest covid-19 bulletin. There are another 3 deaths. The new cases, which were confirmed 2,919 with molecular swab and 156 by rapid antigenic test, cause the total number of infections in the region from the beginning of the pandemic to rise to 334,283.
New cases are 0.9% more than the previous day’s total. The healed grew by 0.1% and reached 296,777 (88.8% of total cases). Today 12,073 molecular swabs and 3,543 rapid antigenic swabs were performed, of which 19.7% were positive. On the other hand, 6,880 subjects tested today (with antigenic and / or molecular swab, excluding control swabs), of which 44.7% were positive. The currently positive are 29,990 today, + 10.2% compared to yesterday. The hospitalized are 515 (34 more than yesterday), of which 72 in intensive care (stable). Today there are 3 new deaths: 2 men and one woman with an average age of 81.7 years. EMILIA ROMAGNA – There are 2,921 new infections from Coronavirus today, Sunday 26 December 2021, in Emilia Romagna according to Covid-19 data in the latest bulletin of the Region. Since yesterday there have been 21 deaths in the Region for a total of 14,146 victims in the Region since the beginning of the pandemic. In the last 24 hours, 12,384 molecular swabs were performed with a positivity rate of 19.3%. 53,528 people in home isolation. Since yesterday 905 people have been healed.
The number of patients admitted to intensive care is stable at 107 as yesterday, while those in the other Covid departments are 1,187, 45 more than yesterday. Among the provinces with the highest number of new cases Modena (513) and Reggio Emilia (476); then Rimini (310), Ravenna (276), and Parma (197); then Cesena (143), Piacenza (139) and Forlì (127); finally Ferrara (110) and the Imola district with 62 cases.
PIEDMONT – There are 1,523 new infections from Coronavirus today, Sunday 26 December 2021 in Piedmont, according to Covid-19 data in the latest bulletin of the Region. There have been 2 deaths since yesterday. In the last 24 hours, 12,822 swabs were processed, of which 6,630 antigenic, with a positivity rate of 11.9%. Since yesterday, 753 people have been healed.
Non-intensive care patients are 995, 62 more than yesterday. There are 86 people hospitalized in intensive care, 6 more than yesterday. There are 37,839 people in home isolation.
