Kuwait City: The Kovid vaccine will be given to people over the age of five in Kuwait from February. The Ministry of Health has announced that the vaccine will be delivered to Kuwait by the end of January.

The Ministry of Health has decided to import the vaccine by the end of January and distribute it from the first week of February after completing the testing process. Meanwhile, vaccination registration of children above the age of five has started.

Kuwait also began registration after the FDA approved a Fizer vaccine for people over the age of five. Children should be given one-third the dose of the vaccine given to adults. Pfizer Biontech reports that clinical trials have shown that it is 90 percent safe and effective.

There are about 4.5 million children between the ages of five and 11 in Kuwait. Adult vaccination is complete. Booster distribution is also progressing for those who have completed six months after taking the second dose.

Meanwhile, the number of people receiving the booster dose vaccine in Kuwait has reportedly increased. The Ministry of Health and the Prime Minister had appealed to the people to get vaccinated. The initial assessment was that the booster dose was all acceptable in a situation where the omicron virus variant was of concern.

The number of Kovid cases currently reported in the country is low. Earlier, officials said Kuwait was ready to deal with the spread of the virus around the world. Only 313 active cases were reported in the country on Wednesday. Only 12 people are being treated at the hospital. There are only four people in the intensive care unit. There are less than 100 Kovid cases every day.
