The mayor of Coyoacan, Giovani Gutierreznoted that in order to contribute to the construction of an equitable and inclusive city, they implement social and inter-institutional mechanisms that allow the active and permanent participation of people with disabilities within a framework of solidarity and equality.
“A job is not just a salary, it is dignity, it is independence, it is the possibility of contributing to society based on one’s own history and abilities. We are convinced that, in a fair and equitable society, we should all have the same opportunities; no one should be left behind,” said the mayor of the district.

The event was organized by the General Directorate of Social Development and Economic Development of the mayor’s office, in charge of Gabriela Loya Minerowhich brought together 50 companies that offered more than 700 vacancies for people with motor, hearing, visual, intellectual and multiple disabilities.
The mayor of the district assured that his suggestion “is making Coyoacán a municipality where inclusion is a reality,” which has supported those with a motor disability with more than 2 thousand technical aids such as canes, wheelchairs or walkers.
He also stressed that his administration has made progress in accessibility with the marking of almost 400 blue boxes in homes and buildings in the district, and has trained more than 500 public officials and workers of the mayor’s office with the workshops “Awareness Raising” y “Mexican Sign Language”.
