The Coyoacán Mayor’s Office reported that according to the Public Street Commerce System, 459 IDs have been cancelled, which represents 17% less than what was received in the previous administration.
According to the figures, as of September 2021 there were 2,712 IDs and today the number of active permits is 2,253.
It should be reported that in the last administration 512 IDs were granted, while during the current administration not a single permit has been issued, establishing a goal of 500 withdrawals.
It means that there is a slope of 41 that must be executed in the next 5 months. Of the total of 459 permits that were cancelled, 97 of them, that is, 21 percent, correspond to the neighborhoods that comprise the center of Coyoacán.
There are currently 426 active permits for the exercise of commerce on public streets in the historic center, which enables them, for the most part, to work from Tuesday to Sunday.
However, through several negotiation tables, it has been achieved that, during the week, only 10 percent of the registered merchants work, while the majority do so on weekends.
Furthermore, these actions are added to the work carried out by the mayor’s office to preserve security and contribute to actions regarding civil protection, for those who visit the district by reducing the number of turns to offer better mobility in the event of any eventuality.
The Coyoacán mayor’s office reaffirms its commitment to preserving order, as well as offering conditions of security, mobility and free movement to those who visit the district.
