The Plenary of the Council for Citizen Participation and Social Control (CPCCS) approved the call to public scrutiny and citizen challenge to the applicants for the contest for the designation of the first authority of the General Comptroller of the State.
The resolution was taken on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. This, after learning of the notification from the Citizen Selection Commission indicating that the requirements and disqualifications review stage has ended, with the qualification of 103 applicants.
The president of the CPCCS, Alembert Vera, invited the public to participate in this stage of the contest, so that it can be carried out in democracy. The candidacy of any applicant can be challenged that incurs in:
Lack of probity or suitability, Failure to comply with requirements or be involved in any of the prohibitions and disqualifications established in the Constitution, the law and the Regulations of the contest.
The call with the corresponding dates and deadlines, as well as the requirements to present the challenges, will be published and disseminated through the official channels of the CPCCS. Also, in three national circulation media, as established by the contest regulations.
In addition, the Plenary of the CPCCS learned about the schedule of the process approved by the Citizen Commission, once it reorganized its work plan, in compliance with the constitutional ruling that ordered the contest to return to the requirements verification stage. On October 10, 2023, the winner of this process will be announced.
