Senators Plínio Valério and Márcio Bittar should compose the Commission’s working table
The Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (CPI) in the Federal Senate that will investigate the performance of NGOs focusing on amazon defined the members of the collegiate. Among the opposition representatives are senators Hamilton Mourão (Republicans-RS) and Mecias de Jesus (Republicans-RR). On the government side, Beto Faro (PT-PA) and Tereza Leitão (PT-SE) are part of the list. Senator Plinio Valério (PSDB-AM), author of the creation of the CPI, is quoted to assume the presidency of the collegiate, and Senator Marcio Bittar (União-AC), the rapporteur. The commission wants details of transfers made by the federal government to foreign entities since 2002 and also to investigate non-governmental organizations considered a front and their relationship with public power. The request for the creation of the CPI was signed by 37 senators — the minimum number in the House is 27. Valério argues that he has received several complaints about the transfer of federal resources to NGOs that were not effectively applied.
