According to reports, the incident occurred on Wednesday at around 4:00 a.m., when a loud bang was heard and at around 6:00 a.m. they learned that there was a crack extending approximately 10 km over the area of ​​Plan de San Martín.

After that, the inhabitants of the region urged its repair in order to avoid a major accident.

Authorities later went to the site and removed dirt and stones from at least two other points after the detour to Malinalco and near the entrance to the community of Zepayautla.

It was also reported that the Tenango-Tenancingo highway is completely closed near kilometer 38 and a half. The alternative routes are the Joquicingo or Villa Guerrero highways.

It was reported that due to the reported crack, a sinkhole opened on Thursday that covers three lanes of the Mexico State highway.

Municipal authorities will apparently have a meeting around 12:00 noon with the Secretariat of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), so that they can carry out the corresponding investigations, reported Héctor Gordillo Sánchez, municipal president of Tenancingo, through a video on Facebook.
