Sri Lanka has been notified internationally to stop the use of tear gas by security forces to quell protests in Sri Lanka.

Accordingly, this announcement has been made by the Geneva Human Rights Council located in Switzerland.

The Geneva Human Rights Council has reported that the tear gas used to suppress the ongoing protests in Sri Lanka contains toxic chemicals that are harmful to the eyes.

It has also been revealed that the sale of tear gas to the police in this country has been carried out by Western countries.

It is also mentioned that the police are acting in such a way as to suppress the protests in this country by throwing teargas shells and attacking the protestors with minimum force in every case.

It is also reported that several protesters have been admitted to hospital after falling unconscious from tear gas canisters.

In such a situation, the international community has announced to ban the use of tear gas in the country.
