CSKA beat “Levski” 2:0 in the football battle for Bulgaria. Tobias Heinz scored in the 61st min. Fernando Karanga doubled in the 77th. Before that, another goal of the “reds” was not counted – in the 14th minute, CSKA scored a goal, but it was canceled after VAR’s intervention due to Lindseth’s handball.

However, the match will be remembered for disturbances in the stands and life- and health-threatening events, as a result of which a mother, a boy and other fans were injured and taken by ambulance from the stadium.

The “Levski” – CSKA derby began with a dangerous shelling of rockets on the stands instead of a dangerous shelling on the football pitch. A number of flares were directed directly at the people – initially from the “red” sector “G” to the nearby “blue” sector “A”, and subsequently in the opposite direction. The shelling from the “red” to the “blue” supporters continued long after the start of the match. The dangerous “exercise” was repeated for the start of the second part.

There were over 30,000 spectators in the stadium. The new president of BFS, Georgi Ivanov-Gonzo, also arrived at the match.

CSKA started without a single Bulgarian in the derby with “Levski”. The coach of the “blues” Nikolay Kostov left the starting guard Plamen Andreev in reserve. Young Ivan Andonov was chosen under the goal frame of “Levski” for the biggest match in Bulgaria.

The first football danger in the derby was in front of Levski’s goal in the 10th minute. Phaeton overcame Van der Kaap and shot, but Andonov deflected. The ball hit Karanga’s body and went out.

In the 14th minute, the ball entered the Levski net. After a cross in front of the “blues” goal, Jonathan Lindseth sent the ball into the net behind Ivan Andonov, but he did it with his left hand. This initially went unnoticed by referee Dragomir Draganov, but an immediate correction was made and CSKA’s illegal goal was cancelled.

Immediately after the restart, Patrik-Gabriel Galchev was presented with a chance in the CSKA penalty area, but Gustavo Busato came out with foresight and was able to outrun him to clear the ball with his foot. A new opportunity followed for Galchev, but he slowed down and did not manage to make a shot.

Ivan Andonov stopped a good “red” attack in the 21st minute. Lindseth brought Karanga alone against Andonov, but the goalkeeper of the “blues” saved the shot of the Brazilian player who returned to the “Army”.

In the 25th error of the “blue” defense could have been fatal. Córdoba let the ball go behind him and Karanga charged head-on towards the goal. Ivan Andonov came out in front of the penalty area to clear with his foot, but he also hooked the striker of the “reds”, for which he received a yellow card. Only the fact that his teammates had already returned behind him and he was not the last in the line of defense saved Andonov from a red card.

Tobias Heinz failed to capitalize on a good opportunity for CSKA with the direct free kick just outside the edge of the penalty area and shot into the wall.

The second half started again with shelling on the stands – mainly from sector “G” to sector “A”.

On the field, something interesting in football happened only in the 57th minute – Javad El Jemili made an excellent raid, overcame three CSKA players, got into a good position and shot, but away from the goal.

CSKA took the lead 4 minutes later. “Levski” goalkeeper Ivan Andonov came out to clear the ball, but made a mistake and sent it to the feet of Tobias Heinz. He navigated the situation perfectly and scored in the empty goal. 1:0 for the “reds”.

CSKA doubled their lead in the 77th minute as Lindseth passed to Tobias Heinz, who shot but Andonov dived and deflected. However, Karanga added into the empty net before taking off his shirt and rushing off to celebrate with the Reds fans in the B section.

There were riots in the stands between the two goals. After the rocket fire, there were people in sector “A” who needed medical attention. Three ambulances arrived. During the attempt to bring out the injured and when the door in the fence next to the runway was opened, however, enraged leftists entered into a fight with the policemen, who entered inside and began to impose with batons. Subsequently, a serious group of ultras from sector “B” arrived, who were released among “their own” in sector “A”, and a fight between leftists also took place. Scores of parents and small children ran up through the seats to escape a fight. An injured mother was put in an ambulance, and then her 11-year-old son was taken to her. An injured boy was also taken away by ambulance. Scores of police surrounded the entire pitch of the national stadium.

Meanwhile, the so-called football derby continued.

In the continuation of the match, Asprilya was close to a third goal for CSKA, but after his shot, the ball “licked” the left post and went out.
