Actor and producer Vijay Babu, who is absconding abroad in connection with the rape of a young actress, has been given a credit card by a friend of the film actor. He may be questioned immediately by the investigators. There are indications that the actor handed over the credit card to the accused directly in Dubai. Vijay Babu, who has been in hiding in Dubai for a month, had asked the actor to hand over his credit cards after he ran out of cash. Actor Vijay Babu’s close relative gave him the card. It is learned that the actor then reached Dubai via Nedumbassery and handed over the cards. Vijay Babu’s move is to stay abroad till he gets anticipatory bail in the case. Until then, they sought help for the money they could afford.
Meanwhile, the police will impose more departments against Vijay Babu. The latest move comes in the wake of the complainant’s mother being threatened. No new case will be filed. Before filing the complaint, Vijay Babu threatened the actress’ mother.
Police will be questioning some others in the next few days who are suspected of helping Vijay Babu. The probe team was informed that Vijay Babu was under the protection of a Dubai dignitary. Although Vijay Babu had informed the high court that he would return home on the 30th, the police suspect that he was planning to cancel his flight and postpone his journey. Vijay Babu claims that he left the country without knowing that the police had registered a case.
