NASA and SpaceX jointly sent 4 soldiers to the International Space Station yesterday through the Crew 5 mission. The Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Crew Dragon capsule lifted off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 9.30 pm IST yesterday (Wednesday). Then the spacecraft was successfully positioned in the designated orbit.

The Crew-5 program has sent 4 astronauts to the International Space Station. NASA astronauts Nicole Mann and Josh Kasada, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) astronaut Koichi Wakata, and Roscosmos astronaut Anna Kikina have traveled to the International Space Station under the Crew-5 program. Mann and Cassada will serve as mission commander and pilot, respectively. The rest will serve as mission specialists, it said.

Anna Kikhina, a 38-year-old cosmonaut from Russia. Kikina thanked NASA, the SpaceX program. Once the spacecraft enters Earth’s orbit, Kikhina said she would like to thank NASA, Roscosmos and the crew of the International Space Station (ISS) for giving her this great opportunity. Kikina had been training at NASA since last year for space travel.

About nine minutes after the rocket’s launch on Wednesday, the rocket’s upper deck,
The crew positioned the dragon on a circular path. It traveled through space at nearly 16,000 miles (27,000 km) per hour. The lower-stage booster section of the reusable rocket returned to Earth, landing safely in the ocean.

The four crew members and their separate capsules will reach the International Space Station this evening (Thursday), after a journey of about 29 hours. It is expected to spend 150 days in an orbiting laboratory about 250 miles (420 km) from Earth to carry out scientific work.

Nicole Aunabu Mann (45), who has been sent to the International Space Station, has become the first Native American woman in space. She is also the first woman to grace the helm of SpaceX’s Crew Dragon.
