Zimbabwe played a three-match ODI series against Afghanistan last June and lost all three matches by 60 runs, 8 wickets and 4 wickets. As a result, Zimbabwe was seen as an underpowered team. In this case, they won the 3-match ODI series against the recently in-form Bangladesh by 2-1.
