Accused by FNDC activists of corruption in the awarding of contracts at the level of their various departments, the three former Prime Ministers and Ministers, respectively Bernard Goumou, Alphonse Charles Wright (former Minister of Justice), Moussa Cissé (former Minister of Finance) and the current Minister of Transport, Ousmane Gaoual Diallo were cleared by the Court for the Repression of Economic and Financial Offenses (Crief). The announcement was made yesterday Monday August 5 by the special prosecutor, Aly Touré on national television.

“The contracts around which the denunciations were made were combed through. We concluded that there was no total violation. When it is like that, the public prosecutor can do nothing but to close the case without further action. There is in particular the case of Messrs. Charles Wright, Ousmane Gaoual Diallo, Dr. Bernard Goumou and Moussa Cissé. Since the verifications at the level of the indices did not yield anything, if there is no indication of prosecution, we close the case without further action. Before initiating any prosecution, we must go through preliminary checks. And these preliminary checks, to date, have practically yielded no positive results,” declared the head of the special prosecution service of the CRIEF.
