Sukumaran came to know about the marriage through a post on Instagram. On March 11, 2022, he found out that his ex-girlfriend, Mohamed Ajli, was getting married the next day to a young man named Mohamed Saleh.

He went to set fire in black clothes

Sukumaran locked the front gate of the residence and set it on fire. After setting fire, Sukumaran reached the ground floor through the lift. To escape, he wore a black hoodie and covered his face. So his face is not visible in the camera. Public Prosecutor Bharat said that Sukumaran had followed this route to avoid being caught on CCTV cameras.
