Ukrainian drone attack in Crimea, an evacuated area
Ukraine would have tried this Saturday to attack with drones “infrastructure” in the center of Crimea, said the pro-Russian governor of Crimea, this peninsula annexed in 2014 by Moscow. “The enemy attempted to carry out a raid using drones against infrastructure in the Krasnogvardeisky district of the Republic of Crimea,” Sergei Aksionov said on Telegram.
He stressed that relief had been sent to the scene to deal with “the possible consequences” of the drone raid. He did not specify who had been the target of this operation and did not mention casualties. This attack however caused the explosion of an ammunition depot in the Krasnogvardeïski district, indicated the governor.

Consequently, “the decision was made to evacuate people living within a radius of five kilometers”, he warned.
This accusation was made five days after an attack on the bridge connecting the Crimean peninsula to mainland Russia, which left two people dead. Crimea has been targeted several times since the start of the Russian offensive in Ukraine 17 months ago, but the attacks appear to have intensified in recent weeks.
Rail traffic suspended in Crimea
In addition to having evacuated the population, and in order to “minimize the risks” after the Ukrainian drone attack in Crimea, “it was also decided to stop rail traffic”, said pro-Russian governor Sergei Aksionov.
Road traffic on the Crimean Bridge was “temporarily” interrupted. Traffic was restored a few minutes later, pro-Russian authorities announced on Telegram.
Another video shows fire at the railway station in Oktyabr’skoye, occupied Crimea. Witnesses say the fire has started after explosions.

A village in the Russian region of Belgorod bombed
At the same time, the governor of the Russian region of Belgorod, bordering Ukraine, accused Kiev on Saturday of having bombarded the village of Jouravlevka the day before with cluster munitions. “In the Belgorod region, 21 artillery and three cluster munitions fires from a multiple rocket launcher were carried out (by the Ukrainian army) on the village of Zhuralevka,” Vyacheslav Gladkov said on Telegram.
