Criminal case opened after fatal accident near Yelabuga

On behalf of the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, the ICR department for Tatarstan opened a criminal case after the fatal accident near Yelabuga. This is stated in the message of the department.

Recall that the tragedy took place on December 1 early in the morning in the Yelabuga region, where the driver of the Kamaz-Marco Polo bus carrying a group of workers from one of the enterprises collided with a Mercedes truck standing on the side of the road. As a result, one passenger was killed, another 21 people were injured.

The case was opened under clause “c” part 2 of Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet safety requirements), part 3 of Art. 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of traffic rules). Mr. Bastrykin instructed to establish all the details of the incident and put the course of the investigation under control in the central office of the department. Now investigators are examining the place of emergency.
