Mexican Prosecutor Links Priority Criminal to Violence in Mexico City
Ulysses Lara, a spokesperson for the Prosecutor’s Office of the Attorney General of Mexico City, announced that an investigation has linked Victor Hugo N., alias “The Huguito,” to violent crimes in the capital. He is considered a high-priority target in the rewards program and is suspected of involvement in homicide and robbery. Additionally, he is believed to be the leader of “The Tepito Union.”
“I inform you that the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Attorney General of Mexico City obtained an order to link to proceedings against Víctor Hugo N, alias El Huguito, considered one of the priority objectives generating violence in the country’s capital,” Lara said.
El Huguito, for whom a reward of 500,000 pesos was offered, was arrested in Cancun in collaboration with authorities in Quintana Roo. He has a criminal record dating back to the age of 16.
The initial hearing confirmed his preventive detention as a precautionary measure, and a one-month deadline was set for completing the investigation.
