Cristian Castro launches metal version of “Raining Stars”

by time news

Guitars, drums, bass and guttural sounds are part of the new version of “Raining stars”, a popular song that Cristian Castro released in 2001 and was part of his album “Azul”.

The theme is a collaboration that the Mexican made with the Argentine metal band Aspera and from that experience there was also a video clip that is available on YouTube and portrays the irreverence of the rock genre with a strange romance, a party in a house and unreal situations.

At first, the son of Verónica Castro and “El Loco” Valdés appears with a woman aboard a spaceship orbiting planet Earth, and then ends up in what appears to be a forest.

After a while of “sweethearts” the bride and groom begin to fight with swords and in the middle of their walk, they coincide with a house where the musicians have a “play”. They are joined by the singer to interpret “Raining stars”.

The reactions

Actually, the new audiovisual is a parody of the original, in which Cristian Castro also goes on a spaceship. The singer was a kind of pirate of the universe desperately looking for a woman who commands another ship, while remembering some moments with her.

That theme was very successful more than 20 years ago and was positioned at the top of the music charts, but now, in rock format, it is also so popular that in less than 24 hours of release it has more than 44,000 views on YouTube.

The comments were not long in coming and at the close of this edition the video had 830 comments, most of them congratulations for this peculiar union. “They even sent a tribute to Tool, thank you for so much”, “the only ones in the world who can convince Cristian Castro to collaborate with a metal band, definitely master minds”, “What geniuses Asspera, fulfilling the dream of little Cristian Castro to play in a Heavy group”, “SHUT UP AND TURN OFF EVERYTHING!! THIS IS THE HITAZO OF THE YEAR” and “The crossover that we all needed and nobody asked for, what a fear, I loved it and the video clip is also tremendous 10/10”, were some of the opinions left by YouTube users.

Pop singer with a rock heart

“Asspera and Cristian Castro came together to show that there are no borders in the world of music, much less when there is desire and love for metal! This is how this metal version of ‘Lloviendo Estrellas’ was born to be played at full volume and pogueed ‘romantically’. Thanks to Cristian for so much magic…”, can be read in the description of the collaboration.

It is indeed peculiar to hear such a heavy song from a rock singer, but Cristian is no stranger to the genre. In fact, when he got into music, he did it with a rock album that he released in 1994.

“El camino del alma” is the name of this work that came to light almost 30 years ago and is a material full of rock, hard rock and other heavy musical styles, reviewed Cuartel del Metal.

Likewise, we must highlight the La Esfinge project, which was created in 2014 under the initiative of Castro. He went on to use his alter ego, Lügh Draculea, to separate himself from the popularity that his career as a balladeer brought him.

“If rockers can make ballads, because balladeers couldn’t make rock. And I think this would be the first time that a formal balladeer, like me, is going to cross over to the rocker side. I hope to do it in the most dignified way ”, Cristian said when he embarked on this project, which he formed after collaborating with Enanitos Verdes and Genitallica.
