Besieged by several judicial investigations, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner announced this Tuesday that she will not be a candidate for the presidency in the upcoming presidential elections in October this year and took the opportunity to lash out at the judges by pointing out that she will not allow them to issue a ruling disqualifying her.

The vice president pointed out that “I already said it on December 6, 2022. I am not going to be a pet of power for any candidacy. I have shown, like no one else, to privilege the collective project over personal location.” At the end of last year, she was sentenced to six years in prison and disqualified from holding public office, although that does not prevent her from running until the sentence is final, something that will occur after several judicial instances.

Fernández de Kirchner said that “when I spoke of the ban in December 2022, it was not in the exercise of divinatory arts, but with the understanding of the historical stage that we are going through.” Regarding the judges, he pointed out that “I know them, I know how they think, how they act and how they are going to act. I have seen them throughout history and I experienced their game firsthand and that of my family, with a persecution tied with surgical precision to the electoral calendar”.

She ends her message posted on her website pointing to those who, according to her, sought the end of Peronism and Kirchnerism: “They could not and will not be able to end the memory or dreams of millions of Argentines to live in a free nation, whose people progress in order and are happy”.
