In February, Nadine Fähndrich had to undergo an operation due to cardiac arrhythmia. The resulting break didn’t throw the 28-year-old from Lucerne off track at all. On the contrary.

Fähndrich showed in the sprint in Drammen, Norway that she is already back to her old self. She won her quarter and semi-finals and qualified confidently for the final. In this she initially ran in the lead, but was overtaken by her competitors towards the end. When Norwegian Kristine Stavaas Skistad won, Fähndrich came fifth.

Among the men, Valerio Grond was just as good as Fähndrich. The 23-year-old from Grisons won his quarterfinal. In the semi-finals he was very unlucky. He lost a stick and temporarily lost his connection. Later he ran out of strength. The clear winner was Johannes Hösflot Kläbo from Norway.
