Seven non-international armed conflicts in Colombia put the survival of peasant, indigenous and Afro-Colombian communities at risk. During the first half of 2023, we registered more than a hundred victims of different types of explosive devices. People, like you, who on the way to their homes encountered antipersonnel mines, explosive remains of war, launched and controlled detonation devices that truncated their life projects and that of their families.

Others survived, and today their bodies, marked by the scars of war, walk along the paths and corners of the country, carrying the psychological consequences that only those who have experienced the devastating consequences of an armed conflict know.

The quality of life of Colombians living in the most affected regions continues to deteriorate. In the first six months of 2023, thousands of people fled their homes, leaving everything, displacement and uncertainty took over several departments. In Nariño, for example, the number of people who moved individually and collectively increased drastically. In other departments such as Cauca, Bolívar, Sucre and Caquetá there was a significant increase in people who, for fear of adding to the list of fatalities left by the war, preferred to leave their village, their region.
