Crown Princess Victoria to Participate in Helsinki Program

On Wednesday, Crown Princess Victoria will be the sole representative from the royal family participating in a program in Helsinki. She will be taking part in the festivities at Hanaholmen, the cultural center for Sweden and Finland, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary. The Crown Princess will have the honor of delivering Sweden’s greeting during the event.

However, it is important to note that the program is exclusively for invited guests. Håkan Forsgård, the communications director at Hanaholmen, stated that there are unfortunately no opportunities for the public to see the crown princess.

The following day, the program will be joined by Prince Daniel. Their day will begin with a visit to Sveaborg at 09:00. From there, the royal couple will continue their journey to Hanken, where they are expected at 11:00. At 11:35, Victoria and Daniel will have lunch together with students. The guests of honor’s table will be occupied by students from both Sweden and Finland, along with Sweden’s ambassador.

The lunch will be prepared in the kitchen of Hanken and will consist of an herb salad as a starter, followed by a main course of potato cake, roasted chicken with dark thyme sauce, and mini carrots. The meal will conclude with coffee and tea.

After leaving Hanken, the crown princess couple will head to Lovisa. The people of Lovisa will have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the royals on Lovisa square at approximately 1:45 p.m. The crown princess couple will be present to greet the audience. They will then proceed towards Drottningstranden via Gamla strand and the floating Kronobron. At Gamla strand, children will present flowers to the crown princess, and there will also be an opportunity to interact with the royals.

It is important to note that the procession cannot be followed, and the Kronobron will be closed to the public. Therefore, it is recommended for those interested in seeing Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel to arrive on time at one of the designated places – the square, Gamla Strand, or Drottningstrand.

At Drottningstranden, the Crown Princess will inaugurate the beach’s escarpment, which will be named Victoriaplatsen thereafter. The inauguration is expected to commence around 2:15 p.m. Several streets along the walking route will be closed, and parked cars will be cleared. Parking at the square in Lovisa will be prohibited from Wednesday evening until after the visit concludes, which is estimated to be around 3 p.m. on Thursday.

The nearby sea area will also be closed during the visit, preventing boats from approaching. However, it will be reopened once the visit is over.

After the program in Lovisa, the crown princess couple will conclude their visit with a tour of Fazer’s factory in Vantaa at 4 p.m.
