A woman was admitted to the Salem Government Hospital for delivery last month. In this case, she gave birth to three girls in one delivery on October 20. The child’s family informed the hospital principal Valli that the condition was not possible to take care of the children.
He then gave adequate advice. However, they reiterated their inability to nurture and said they would hand over the children. Following this, the hospital management was taking care of the underweight children for more than 10 days.
Following this, after the children’s physical condition improved, steps were taken to hand over the 3 girls to the District Child Protection Officer. In this case, Salem District Collector Karmegam personally visited the children and handed them over to the Child Protection Officer Uma Maheswar and instructed them to take care of the children in the best way.
As the three girls were handed over to the district administration due to poverty and unable to raise them, efforts are being made to hand over the child to the parents if they change their mind within 60 days.
