O Cruzeiro drew 1-1 with Athletic this Saturday (27) for the second round of the Campeonato Mineiro. At Arena do Jacaré, in Sete Lagoas, the goals came in the second half.
After analyzing the VAR, the referee awarded a penalty for Dinenno’s handball and Jonathas converted, opening the score for Athletic. Cruzeiro’s equalizer came through the feet of Wesley Gasolina.
Raposa finished the game with nine players on the field and will go to the classic against Atlético-MG in the next round with two absences. Wesley Gasolina himself was sent off a few minutes after the equalizing goal for a foul on Luciano. The full-back received a straight red after the referee’s review in VAR. In stoppage time of the match, Neris received a second yellow card and also went to the dressing room early.
With this result, both Cruzeiro and Athletic reach four points in the Campeonato Mineiro, with one win and one draw.
