As the stern Jan Böhmermann met for an interview around seven years ago, the conversation took place in a former carpet factory, located in an industrial area in the Ehrenfeld district of Cologne. The facade read “Carpet King. Laminate. Parquet,” and all the rooms exuded backyard charm. Back then, Böhmermann broke new ground on television with his show “Neo Magazin Royale”.
